The main objective of the project activity is to successfully implement and operate a 4.2 MW wind farm to generate renewable electricity in high wind speed areas of Karnataka State in India. The generated renewable electricity from the Wind Electric Generators (WEGs) is then supplied to the state electric utility called Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL) on the basis of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) which is then transmitted through the state electric grid to various end consumers. The project activity will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, by avoiding CO2 emissions from electricity generation by fossil fuel power plants that is supplied to the Southern Region Grid of India.
